Our mission is to reduce the barriers created by distance and improve access to essential goods and services .
Across Australia, and in many other parts of the world, distance makes essential goods slower and more expensive for the people furthest from a city.
We believe that is an engineering problem, and that it can be solved with the right aircraft.

OUR TEAM

Liesl Haris, CEO and Co-founder
Liesl co-founded Gap Drone in 2023 to close the gap in regional Australian logistics. As CEO, she has built the company and assembled the team that took the ATLAS-C drone from concept to successful prototype flight, and is now securing the investment and partnerships to bring it into service. A three-time finalist for Australian Aviation Executive of the Year, prior to founding Gap Drone had 10 years of aviation leadership at Dronamics and Amber Aviation Group. She is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a LUNA startup board graduate.
Dr Matthew Marino, CTO
As CTO, Matthew leads the technical development of the ATLAS-C, drawing on his experience across the design, development and flight testing of advanced uncrewed aircraft. An aerospace engineer, drone pilot and Associate Professor at RMIT University, he specialises in aircraft performance optimisation, autonomous flight systems and turning innovative concepts into operational capability.
Matt Gaul, Director
Matt has spent more than 25 years building software at CEA Technologies, developing world-leading radar systems for the Royal Australian Navy. He brings that mission-critical discipline to the Gap Drone board, along with experience taking highly complex technical systems from concept to operations. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
